Cinemas around Portsmouth

Vue

Gunwharf Rd, Portsmouth PO1 3TA, UK – 0345 308 4620

Vue is brilliant in Portsmouth, I never go to watch anything but me and my mates go every day o watch the free films in the lobby. Very warm and dry. Have a good laugh at the awfully trailers and take the Mikey out of Paddington bear. They also leave free popcorn on the floors and although it's about cold it's still quite fresh

Good cinema, great sounds System and excellent location. The VIP area doesn't show to much difference from the standard seats. Could be better in general!

No6 Cinema

Boathouse 6, Portsmouth PO1 3LJ, UK – 07435 029408

Quite a short cinema, but get to see some great alternative films.

Lovely, very spacious and a cozy setting

Big Screen Portsmouth

Guildhall Square, Portsmouth PO1 2AL, UK – 023 9284 1413

It's a big screen that can be watched from the guildhall. They sometimes have screening events that are pretty cool.

Lots of great content including local videos and work from students at the University of Portsmouth. Also shows Portsmouth Uni Graduations in the summer.

Theatres for Portsmouth

New Theatre Royal, Portsmouth

20-24 Guildhall Walk, Portsmouth PO1 2DD, UK – 023 9264 9000

Attended the Beauty and the beast 2017 Xmas production. Excellent production, a theatre full of character and a quite apt setting. Frederick the sailor, superb. Will, beautys' brother , hilarious. Well worth the money and will be attending again.

This historic theatre is beautiful, and has a lovely cafe which is a perfect place to meet friends, have meetings. The programming is really varied, so there is something for everyone to enjoy. I have been visiting very regularly for 8 years (excluding the renovation period of closure) and have been consistently delighted. Come to enjoy the New Theatre Royal and you will be supporting the theatre itself and the dedicated work of volunteers, staff and the theatre's network of local and national artists of many disciplines that all work towards making it a wonderful treasure for Portsmouth. This theatre strongly supports the creation of new art and is investing its efforts in the local community and education, please support New Theatre Royal by visiting so that it can continue in its excellence.

The Groundlings Theatre

42 Kent St, Portsmouth PO1 3BS, UK – 023 9273 7370

Great Place, Great Staff, Amazing production team. Love it there with the grandchildren for pantomine time. Go and see, feel the amazing atmosphere there. Very reasonable too.

What a brilliant panto, haven't laughed so much in ages. A lovely atmosphere in a wonderful playhouse. Hope widow Twanky was ok after the unscripted event...

Kings Theatre, Portsmouth

24 Albert Rd, Portsmouth, Southsea PO5 2QJ, UK – 023 9282 8282

I've been here on several occasions and it is a lovely old theatre with lots of charm. The staff have always been helpful and very friendly. Have seen panto and stand up comedians, the sound quality and lighting has always been very good. My only issue, which is the same with a lot of the older theatres is that they weren't designed for someone over 6'.

Words cannot convey how Amazing this little historic theatre is . . . GO, see it for yourself. Panto ( Snow White) was great. Traditional, funny. Great entertainment for all ages. Please go, keep this fantastic theatre going. You will not be disappointed.
