The cinema experience here is really nice, a massive screen with plenty of seating. The only real downside is that it isn't very comfortable but do-able for the duration of a film. We came to see Isle of Dogs but mainly to try the vegan food by Wild Thyme, which was delicious.
So friendly. Really good events. Huge screen. Wonderful
Gunwharf Road, Portsmouth PO1 3TA, UK – 0345 308 4620
Great screens and sound, seat are not too bad but then I always go for the VIP seat upgrade. There is loads of parking, make sure you get your parking validated as parking at Gunwharf isn't cheap. Don't forget to take out a bank loan if you want to buy some food or sweets from the pick and mix.
Could be cleaner, however, friendly staff and great selection of films for all your family-book using Web site as the is normally a queue! I especially like the live opera as it opens up the big screen for all.
Guildhall Square, Portsmouth PO1 2AL, UK – 023 9284 1413
It's a big screen that can be watched from the guildhall. They sometimes have screening events that are pretty cool.
Lots of great content including local videos and work from students at the University of Portsmouth. Also shows Portsmouth Uni Graduations in the summer.

Brilliant night out. Kiki Dee with Camella cannot believe she's 71!!!!! Her voice has come of age. Beautiful smokey strong clear notes. Her partner is one of those outstanding guitarists who make the instrument sing, could listen to him forever. The small onstage, intimate affair was excellent, first time I've ever done it and it felt very strange at first but you get to relate and bond with the artists. Almost didn't go, so very glad I did. Building is unusual and staff very helpful. Will go again.
Fantastic venue for devised theatre and I love the pay what you can season. More venues should follow suit with this approach as it really does work. Looking forward to seeing what else you bring and perhaps you could offer an artists in residence for smaller companies??

Great Place, Great Staff, Amazing production team. Love it there with the grandchildren for pantomine time. Go and see, feel the amazing atmosphere there. Very reasonable too.
What a brilliant panto, haven't laughed so much in ages. A lovely atmosphere in a wonderful playhouse. Hope widow Twanky was ok after the unscripted event...
24 Albert Rd, Portsmouth, Southsea PO5 2QJ, UK – 023 9282 8282
Traditional ornate theatre in the heart of Southsea. Small by modern standards, watching a show here offers a more intimate experience with grandeur galore thrown in. Parking near by can be difficult with no obvious designated areas other than the local streets. Disabled access and bar serving a variety of refreshments. And ice cream, for which you can buy vouchers beforehand. A wide variety of shows, including pantomimes, and regular visiting touring productions.
Visited to watch FastLove but rating the venue rather than the show. The theatre is magical, you can feel the history of it oozing out as soon as you walk through the door. Friendly staff, comfortable seating, reasonable prices and clean facilities. My only negative was that the ushers didn't ask the ladies in front to sit down as they kept blocking our view and they weren't meant to be standing up in that area.I
