Very pleasant stay. Friendly helpful staff, lovely rooms. Not a 5* establishment but you certainly get what you pay for.
A lovely, clean, hotel group in Southsea. Very friendly staff, lovely rooms. A bit off the beaten track but sea and shops within walking distance. Have stayed here twice and would recommend it to anyone.

This hotel has one of the best buffet breakfasts in the business, and the dining room staff don't wait to ask you if you want tea or coffee with your meal. Built in the 1860s, this Victorian hotel has been refurbished, rooms clean and well finished to a good standard, and the hotel remains charming and welcoming. A good bar area as well. All this right on the promenade and overlooking the sea. Views excellent.
Lovely view and close to beach. Rooms were clean & beds were comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff with local info and advice. Had a bit of a ghost experience but did not share it with the family until we left so we would not scare our young teens.

Great spot. We had 2 twin room's and they were spacious enough for 2 adults in each. We ate in the restaurant which was tasty. We ended up not using the leisure facilities as we arrived late and rose late. Breakfast was delicious and very hearty.
The location was good, close proximity to the Clarence Pier and D-Day museum. The reception staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I am a member of the IHG group and I was surprised that the staff actually paid attention to my preferences and addressed them. The room was nicely designed and decorated. Space was adequate. My only issue was that the cleanliness needs to be monitored better. The cup was not cleaned properly when I checked in. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Portsmouth.
18-20 Florence Rd, Portsmouth, Southsea PO5 2NE, UK – 023 9200 7888
This pub was one of the top pubs in Pompey a few years back in the 2000s. Since then, it's been sold on. The wall has been knocked through and the entirety completely redecorated. For me, the atmosphere has gone. There are some cask ales kept satisfactorily. However, the place has been robbed of its charm and now seems like a facsimile of so many of the pubs in Southsea.
We went to the Florence Arms with high expectations, the guy behind the bar recommended the Sunday lunch. We order the lamb, when it arrived it was so tough and fatty were were unable to cut it. The veg served was very good. We brought this to the attention of the waiting staff. He agreed the lamb was not good and brought us out more lamb, by then we had almost finished our meal. The lamb brought out to us was tough but was enjoyed by our dog. The waiter put it in foil for us to take home for him. ( He barked thanks) We were also given 20 per cent off our meal which as £15.95 each not cheap. But nothing compensates for not having a nice meal.

Was a regular 10 years ago, but only an occasional these days (kids and work). Still a great place for a proper relaxed pint. Great stuff.
Classic real ale watering hole for any occasion. Bit stuffy tonight as it's been a scorching day today but the atmosphere here more than compensates. It's outstanding

Beautiful location - especially in the summer. Good range of beers, lovely food. Wonderful to sit outside and watch the world go by and enjoy the sunset. Update: the staff seem to move in slow motion. Perfectly good job, just no sense of urgency when the place is jam packed.
This is our favourite place in Pompey. Right on the harbour entrance it is a good place to unwind and watch the ships and boats pass by with excellent ale and good food. Living in Nottingham and landlocked this is a place we head to for a weekend or two each year. It gets busy but staff cope efficiently and never have to wait long to be served. We both love it.

Nice and cosy. Breakfast was very good, prepared exactly to our taste. Rooms were airy but warm and very clean. Will stay there again and recommend any day.
We would highly recommend this place to stay. The owners were very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Many thanks for an enjoyable stay and will definitely here again. Mr and Mrs Bentley. Sarah and Shirley.

A basic old school b&b where I had 2 nights of great sleep plus good wifi, plenty of tv channels and a very friendly proprietor, even made me beans on toast before breakfast began. Can't really ask for more 🙂
Great place to stay would recommend

After realising of booked a room weeks later than I should of, albeit there wasnt any rooms available for the day i needed Mike at Abbey Lodge was extremely understanding & helpful. For this I hope to book again on a future visit to the area.
Was a last minute booking, and they were very accommodating. The gentleman gave me recommendations for food in the local area. The Room was clean and well presented, and the beds were very comfy. Toiletries were provided along with clean towels etc. Parking was a bit of a pain but that is the only negative. Highly recommended!
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Good caravan park that is being updated as it’s a bit old and in need of modernisation. Friendly staff. A bit disappointed that outdoor pool not open given the recent hot weather. Good bar that is run by friendly staff. Right on the beach looking over to Isle of Wight I would recommend this park a good base . It also has static caravans and lodges too . Very nice
Southsea beach... Nothing better on a sunny day. The east end is perfect for walking your dogs but don't go too far or you'll end up in the nudist beach 🏖
Eastern Rd, Portsmouth PO3 6QB, UK – 023 9266 6442
